Meet the ex…

My first boyfriend (as if naman ang dami kong naging BFs, may pa-first-first BF pa)… let’s call him DK. (far right)

I came across his profile on Friendster. No, I’m not the obsessive ex-girlfriend (I was once the crazy ex, but the new Lilith isn’t. Pag tapos na, tama na). Hindi ko hinalughog ang friendster just to find him. Again, I just happen to stumble upon his profile. I must admit, I still find the six-foot bloke attractive…and he’s got a new band, a goth industrial band (and I won’t mention the name of his band). Hindi sa OA, but he’s really a great musician, as in. Once, I made him listen to a Portishead song…he listened for a few seconds…then played it on his keyboard/synthesizer…then he made cool variations of it. And even if he wasn’t listening to Portishead before, nakikinig na din sya ngayon. Anyways, aside from being a great musician (vocalist na din pala sya ngayon), he’s also a great visual artist. And what I love about his works is he uses/creates really dark images…which I’m sooo into.

Now I won’t go into details how we broke up. Yung pleasant details na lang…

When I first met him, he reminded me sooo much of my number one rocker crush Trent Reznor…not that he looks like him, but DK really reminded me of him. And I guess we instantly clicked because we were into the same stuff: dark mood, dark arts, obsessions, fascinations, etc. I mean he’d really be my ideal guy…BUT, he made me realize that sharing common likes and dislikes isn’t enough to keep a relationship. :(

What I really loved most about him is, he was able to bring out the best in me (in terms of creativity, etc.). Aside from that, every time I’m with him, I feel like I’m in some sort of LSD trip…through music and visual arts, we just let our imaginations run wild (not in the kinky sort of way…I was only 21 then), and I’d feel like I was already transported to another realm. Ang gulo no? It’s kind of hard to explain, really.

I guess that’s why my ideal guy should be extremely creative… I want someone who would regularly take me into surreal mind trips (without the drugs). I so miss that. Of course I could do those “trips” alone. But if you’re doing it with someone else (someone you love), it makes the “tripping” seem so real.

Haay.
