Fleeing…for a week

I’m off to Catanduanes tomorrow for a six-day vacation (up until Sunday, whoo-pee!), so I’m rushing all my work, advancing things needed in the office, finishing rakets…and, to make things harder for me,  the BIG BOSS assigned me to help out in the editorial desk (editing page1-metro-regional news). So I’m busy, busy, busy. But the problem isn’t the workload. Nope. I can handle that. The problem is…

The budget! I had too much bills to pay, so I’m left with VERY minimal pocket money… And my other raket hasn’t payed up for the last two articles I’ve written for them. Chances are, I could go back from Catanduanes completely broke (and with debts from my YOUNGER sister). Or even worse… I’d be stuck living in Catanduanes (hehe) cuz I still need to buy me tickets to go back to Manila. The horror…the horror! But I’m trying to be positive again…positive, positive. Whatever happens, going to another place (with beaches, mountains, clean rivers and waterfalls) is still a fun adventure, it’s the getaway that I need…broke or not. I’ll just go there to eat, eat, eat. Swim, swim, swim. Skim, skim, skim. Trek, trek, trek. I need that to get rid of this nagging depression. I still believe that the sun is a natural prozac, so I’m drinking in all the sunlight I could get…and I’m willing to OD on it. I don’t care if I get darker, or if I go home unrecognizable. I’d rather be happy than fit the Filipinos’ common description of pretty (tisay or chinita).  I think my complexion is what makes me hot in the first place (haha!). Besides, I’ve already cut off my connections with people who seriously think that a person’s worth can be measured by how he/she looks and how “white” he/she is. (Pathetic ain’t it?) Anyways, that’s another topic (superficiality, and how I’ve outgrown it…or how I’m trying to outgrow it). Right now, I need to find me some money.
